HERITAGE TO VISION
N Vision 74 brings two stories together: the 1974 Pony Coupe and seven years of hydrogen performance research. A rolling lab puts those ideas on a real circuit.

Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the Pony Coupe for Hyundai. Unveiled in Turin, it led to sports-car prototypes, but never reached production.

N launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show alongside N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo: a concept exploring hydrogen-powered performance.

Seven years later, N Vision 74 combines a fuel cell, battery and rear electric motors to test that vision on the track.

A new layout for high performance.
A front-mounted fuel cell and a T-shaped battery supply two rear motors. The layout gives each system room to work, with independent cooling for the demands of a circuit.

Separate circuits regulate the fuel cell stack, battery and power electronics. Each can shed heat independently during sustained track driving.
The controller coordinates the front fuel cell and the T-shaped, underfloor battery, balancing their contribution as driving conditions change.
Torque vectoring varies the output of the two rear motors to manage grip and cornering. Hyundai’s e-TVTM development tests used a 235 kW motor at each rear wheel.
Two tanks above the rear axle hold 4.2 kg in total. They supply the second-generation fuel cell at the front, supporting a stated range of over 600 km.
FROM CONCEPT TO CIRCUIT
A rolling lab lets Hyundai develop and verify technology before bringing it to future N models.

N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo imagined a hydrogen performance car. N Vision 74 carries that research into a drivable prototype.

Rear-wheel drive and twin motors became the starting point for packaging the battery and fuel cell, with electronic torque vectoring developed around them.

The hybrid system adds weight and heat. Three-channel cooling and motorsport-inspired bodywork address the demands of sustained performance.

Hyundai reports an 80% hydrogen fill in five minutes. Rapid refuelling and a range above 600 km open a potential route for hydrogen in motorsport.
